MoviePass isn't raising prices. It's The Daily Crunch.

THE DAILY CRUNCH
MONDAY, AUGUST 6 2018 By Anthony Ha

MoviePass unveils its new plans, Apple takes action against Infowars and BlaBlaCar acquires a rival. Here's your Daily Crunch for August 6, 2018.

1. MoviePass keeps plan at $10, but limits subscribers to three movies a month

The company had previously said that it would raise its monthly subscription fee to $14.95 per month, but based on customer feedback, it's instead limiting subscribers to three free movies each month. After that, you get a $5 discount on additional tickets.

The company also says subscriptions will include "many" first run movies from the major studios — which would still be consistent with its plans to limit access to big blockbusters.

2. Apple has removed Infowars podcasts from iTunes

This looks like a broader culling of Infowars content than the more targeted removals that Google and Facebook previously announced.

3. BlaBlaCar acquires carpool rival BeepCar from Russia's Mail.Ru

"Through this acquisition, we are doubling down our commitment to develop carpooling in Russia, and to address growing Russian demand for a convenient and reliable long-distance mobility solution," the company says.

4. Airbnb for Work now accounts for 15 percent of bookings

One interesting trend that Airbnb points out is that nearly 60 percent of Airbnb for Work trips had more than one guest — so teammates are probably using it to travel together.

5. DJI releases a Spark drone with a bear face on it

The product is the DJI's first "characterized drone," the result of a partnership with Line Friends, a Japanese line of adorable animal friends.

6. Facebook redesigns biz Pages for utility as feed reach declines

Pages will now emphasize actions and practical information for customers, like a "make appointment" or call option for salons, and reservations and menus for restaurants. Facebook will also start showing "Related Pages."

7. In the future, we will all be podcast hosts

This week, the Equity podcast looked at Cisco's acquisition of Duo, the TechCrunch Mixtape weighed in on Nintendo's recent success and Original Content reviewed Netflix's Orange is the New Black and Hulu's Castle Rock.
