🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Le reason: French AI startup Mistral announced its first family of "reasoning" AI models. Magistral Small is 24 billion parameters in size and available for download. Magistral Medium is in preview mode in Mistral's Le Chat chatbot, the company's API and third-party partner clouds.

📈 Scaling superintelligence: Meta reportedly has plans to unveil a new AI research lab dedicated to "superintelligence." The company has tapped Scale AI founder and CEO Alexandr Wang to join the lab. Meta is also reportedly investing billions in Scale AI, too.

🎤 High note: Apple ended its WWDC keynote yesterday by literally singing the praises of its developer community. This is interesting, considering Apple has spent the past few years fighting against regulators' attempts to rein in the App Store and failing to deliver on tech like Siri that could help its developers' apps.

🛒 Real-world implications: The ongoing cyber incident at United Natural Foods is starting to affect its customers, including Whole Foods. The grocery store chain told its employees this will take several days to resolve and will affect their deliveries and product availability.

🤑 Glean sees green: Enterprise search startup Glean raised $150 million in fresh funds at a $7.2 billion valuation. This is the third round of funding the company has raised since the beginning of 2024.

🎉 More operating software: Google couldn't let Apple have all the operating system announcements this week. Starting today, Android 16 is rolling out to Google's Pixel phones, and it includes updates to Google Photos, Google Wallet, and more.

🫵 On the land or on the sea: Today's episode of StrictlyVC Download features Justin Fanelli, the acting CTO for the U.S. Navy. Fanelli talks about how the Navy is working to bridge the gap between commercial tech and the military, and he offers advice for startups looking to work with the Navy.
