Users can also view the agents' progress and add additional tasks. π§© It's all coming together: Meta has been putting in the work to build up its AI program. After a slew of new high-profile AI hires, the company said it's recentering its AI ambitions around building AI "superintelligence" at Meta Superintelligence Labs. π₯ Cash for Campfire: AI-powered accounting startup Campfire raised a $35 million Series A round led by Accel. Airial, founded by ex-Meta engineers, aims to map out your entire travel experience from end to end. The startup has raised $3 million. πΊπΈ Sorry, states: A federal proposal that would ban states from making laws to regulate AI for five years could be signed into law this year. AI startup CEOs and VCs are in favor, while labor groups and lawmakers on both sides warn this could hurt consumers. We unpack what this would mean. πΆ️ Lawsuit time: Privacy-focused software provider Proton filed a lawsuit against Apple accusing the company of anticompetitive practices in its App Store. Proton's lawsuit compares Apple's fees to tariffs on internet commerce. Spicy! π° Remote worker fraud: The U.S. Department of Justice announced the arrest and indictment of Zhenxing "Danny" Wong. Wong allegedly ran a yearslong fraud scheme in New Jersey to sneak remote North Korean IT workers into U.S. tech companies. This scheme generated more than $5 million for the North Korean regime. π A change of plans? Apple is apparently considering tapping AI models from OpenAI or Anthropic to power its updated version of Siri, instead of using LLM technology the company has built in-house. | | | π All eyes on Glean: Enterprise search company Glean has apparently caused quite a stir in the enterprise world. Not only has the company sparked many other enterprises to launch competing products, but also those companies are now limiting Glean's access to their data. πͺ Everyone's hiring: There have been a lot of headlines focused on Meta's hiring practices as of late. But they aren't the only company scooping up notable names.
