Immigration issues like this could wreak havoc on the AI talent market in the U.S. ๐ฉบ A hack! Yale New Haven Health, Connecticut's largest health system, was hit by a data breach in March. This cyber incident affects more than 5.5 million people, with hackers gaining access to personally identifiable information and some healthcare-related data. ๐คจ AI overviews: Google's AI Overviews are now used by 1.5 billion people monthly, the company said in its first-quarter results. The company started testing these AI Overviews two years ago and considers the initiative successful. TechCrunch was on the ground at the event and spoke to these young tech leaders about their hopes and worries for the future of tech. ๐ฐ Money for Manus: Manus AI, a Chinese startup that builds AI agents, raised $75 million at a $500 million valuation. The company plans to use the money to expand into new geographies, including the U.S., Japan, and the Middle East. | | | ๐ฎ๐ณ A reckoning in India: An interesting debate is emerging in India's tech market. The Indian government is feeling the heat from China's AI progress. India's commerce minister, Piyush Goyal, slammed the startup industry for being focused on the wrong areas. That obviously didn't go over well. โ๏ธ Scale slipup: Scale AI, the data-labeling startup, missed its ambitious revenue goals in 2024. The startup had been targeting $1 billion in 2024 and instead ended at a still respectable $870 million.
