Here's your Daily Crunch for July 23, 2018. 1. Snapchat will shut down Snapcash, forfeiting to Venmo Snapcash may have been more of a liability than a utility. It's a crowded market for peer-to-peer payment tools, plus a Twitter search for "Snapcash" suggests that it was often used to pay for erotic content — so there were some PR risks for the company. The payment platform, which Snapchat created in partnership with Square, will shut down on August 30. 2.
