WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum quits Facebook due to privacy intrusions Neither Koum nor Mark Zuckerberg got specific about the reasons for his departure, but The Washington Post reports that Koum disagreed with Facebook management about the strategy for data privacy and encryption in WhatsApp. Koum is also departing Facebook's board of directors. 2. Amazon launches Prime Book Box, a $23 kids' book selection, in its first physical Prime book service The cost is on top of the Prime membership fee (which is about to go up), but Amazon says you'll be paying 35 percent less than the cumulative cover price for these books. SoFi founder Mike Cagney is back with a new startup and $50 million in funding Cagney was forced out of SoFi last summer, not long after a sexual harassment lawsuit was filed by a former employee who claimed he'd witnessed female employees being harassed by managers and was fired after he reported it.
