Apple goes to school. It's The Daily Crunch.

THE DAILY CRUNCH
TUESDAY, MARCH 27 2018 By Anthony Ha

Apple has some education news, Foxconn buys Belkin and Waymo teams up with Jaguar. All that and more in The Daily Crunch for March 27, 2018.

1. Follow along live from the Apple education event in Chicago

Apple's holding an education-related press conference today in Chicago. The timing's a little awkward, with the event just getting underway as I write this newsletter, but check out our liveblog to get the most up-to-date news.

Also: It's probably iPads.

2. Foxconn buys peripheral maker Belkin for $866M

You probably know Belkin for its various lines of accessories, peripherals, and assorted consumer electronics; Linksys, the most recognizable router brand, is a subsidiary.

3. Waymo teams up with Jaguar to intro a new, premium self-driving car

Google-owned Waymo plans to outfit 20,000 cars for use in the company's self-driving service over the next few years.

4. Huawei's P20 is a shiny, extravagant phone

"Extravagant" might not be what you're looking for in a phone, but TechCrunch's Romain Dillet says it's one of the "most polished Android phones out there."

5. Mozilla's new Firefox extension keeps your Facebook data isolated to the social network itself

To be clear, this extension wouldn't have saved users' data from being compromised as it was in the Cambridge Analytica scandal. But it is meant to plug at least one of the holes in Facebook's leaky dam.

6. Zuckerberg refuses UK parliament summons over FB data misuse

Speaking of Facebook, it's not a good look for the social network to be dodging this kind of questioning, though the company said it has offered up its CTO or chief product officer.

7. Intercom raises $125 million to take on Salesforce

Veteran investor Mary Meeker will also be joining the board.
